A couple of years ago, one of the original Fernie Kids was hit by a truck while she was in a crosswalk. She wasn’t injured, just shook up, but I don’t think it would have happened if she’d been wearing one of these. That being said, I think I’d be hard pressed to get a 14 year old to wear one while out and about on the town just to make her mom feel better. You can feel better, though, knowing that when the Fernie Kids are out and about they’ll be wearing one of these safety
